Women's Rugby World Cup: "We need more benchmarks," admits Joanna Grisez after the victory of the French women

Without a hitch. This Saturday in the west of England, the French women defeated Italy (24-0) to kick off their World Cup. A somewhat sluggish match, particularly in attack, which didn't necessarily reassure the French ranks.
Just after the final whistle, Joanna Grisez (scorer of the first try of the evening) spoke to TF1: "We wanted to play, to have fun. I think that's what we did this weekend. Afterwards, there's a lot of frustration because we could have scored on many occasions, but we have to stay positive and I think that if we can put everything in order, it will be better. When we dare to play, there's less waste. It's a game that we had trouble putting in place at the start of the season and that we're managing to master better now. But obviously we need a few more benchmarks."

We just had to start this match well and maintain this level until the end and I think that's what we managed to do."
